Children In Need Day At Marsden Heights Community College

Students have rasied money in several different ways.

We held a non uniform day along with a balloon release which took place at 12.20pm today. We released over 600 balloons witnessed by the whole school.
We have also been selling badges, naming the bear, a lunchtime film club and we had a disco in the school hall  which has rasied over £100.00

In total we think we will have finally raised over
£1250.00 for Children In Need

Swinden Limestone Quarry and Skipton Castle - May 2011

Year 8 and 9 students recently visited Swinden Quarry in the Yorkshire Dales National Park to investigate how limestone is extracted and processed.  Students descended into the quarry and came face to face with one of the largest rock crushers and excavators in Europe.

In the afternoon, students visited Skipton Castle and were given a guided tour of the 900 year old building - one of Englands best preserved medieval castles.  They were entertained with stories of dungeons, attacks, ghosts, everyday life, the Clifford family and how the building has changed over time.
